If you live in London and are looking to gain the skills and experience you need for a new career in childcare, our FREE Skills Bootcamps in Early Years could be the perfect option.

You don't need to have worked in Early Years before, and you'll receive an interview at the end of the course.

Is the course free?

The course and DBS check are free to you as the student. If you are working in the Early Years sector at the moment, a small employer contribution is required.

Will I be eligible to join?

There are eligibility criteria to join the course. You can check them out before applying here.

Where is the course held?

The course is mostly held online, but there are four face-to-face sessions that you will need to attend in West London. The venue for these sessions can be seen on the map below.

The dates of these sessions will vary but should be held either on a Monday or a Friday from 9.45am until 2.15pm. Please ask your Development Coach for more details. 

How long does the course last?

The course is 12 weeks in total with students attending for 4 days over 4 weeks. In total you receive 80 hours of guided learning.

What days and times are the course held?

You must be available to study with us four days a week online from 9.15am until 2.45pm. Your Development Coach will confirm which days as soon as possible.

You will also need to attend four face to face sessions as part of the course. Dates vary but the sessions will either be held on a Monday or a Friday from 9.45am until 2.15pm. Your Development Coach will discuss this with you in your registration appointment. For venue details, see 'Where is the course held?'

 

What accreditations and qualifications will I receive?

You'll receive your full DBS check for free and gain qualifications in: 

  • Safeguarding & Child Protection
  • Food safety and hygiene
  • Paediatric First Aid

 

The course also includes content mapped to the Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeship such as:

  • Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Child development
  • Theories and approaches on how children learn and develop
  • The importance of CPD in Early Years
  • How to effectively promote Equality, Diversity and inclusion in Early Years
  • Legal requirements in Health and Safety

This means that if you decide to continue your learning, you may qualify to take 16 weeks off an Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeship. 

What support will I receive during the course?

You will receive intensive support from both your experienced Early Years tutors and your Development Coach. Your Development Coach will help to enrole you, support you to find work experience in your area, and help you find a job or apprenticeship when you finish.

What level is the course?

The course will help you work towards a Level 3 and is a route to an accelerated apprenticeship in Early Years, meaning that you would be able to take 16 weeks off completion of your Level 3.

What to expect on the course

You'll gain the skills and experience you need to start your new career. Our tutors have years of experience working in the Early Years sector and will help you get qualifications in Safeguarding & Child Protection, Food safety and hygiene and Paediatric First Aid. You will also gain accreditations in a range of modules plus our Development Coaches help you get work experience in the sector then ensure you are ready to join the job market.
