EDT hosts Delivery Partner National Conference on teacher development

On Tuesday 22 March, we held our very first Delivery Partner National Conference in Birmingham, UK. Early Career Professional Development Programme and National Professional Qualifications Delivery Partners from across England gathered to collaborate and share best practice and ideas.

Early Career Professional Development Programme (ECPDP) and National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) are both teacher development programmes; ECPDP supports early career teachers as they begin their teaching career and NPQs support middle and senior leaders in their professional development. Both programmes form part of the ‘golden thread’ teacher development system which runs from Initial Teacher Training (ITT) to school leadership, ensuring that teachers are supported by high-quality evidence and training throughout their entire career. Our ECPDP and NPQs Delivery Partners include Teaching School Hubs and Multi-Academy Trusts, who work with the programme teams to deliver training to participants.

The ECPDP and NPQs teams enjoyed the opportunity to finally meet Delivery Partners in person, during what proved to be a productive and thought-provoking day. We were delighted to receive a great amount of positive feedback about the day from our Delivery Partners, including the following Tweets:

‘It was a pleasure to attend the @EdDevTrust DP Conference in Birmingham yesterday. So many things to take away and develop in partnership with DP colleagues to support @EdDevTrust_NPQs @EdDevTrust_ECF Programmes #DPCollaborate’
– HISP Teaching School Hub

‘#DPCollaborate A great day spent meeting the zoom faces we’ve spoken to for months in the flesh. Lots to provoke and challenge us all. Thank you @EdDevTrust_ECF’
– Sally Barfoot

‘Wonderful to work with colleagues from fellow Delivery Partners today on the @EdDevTrust conference in Birmingham. #DPCollaborate @spencer_hub @satrust_’
– Chetwynd Spencer Academy

‘Extremely encouraging and interesting listening to the #ECF leads today. Confirmed the programme is in hands of experts (especially Dr Nicky Platt!) who have a realistic grasp on challenges whilst also confident in the impact for teachers IF we get delivery right #DPCollaborate’
– Aimee Barton

Both programme teams look forward to continuing their work with Delivery Partners to ensure we continue to deliver high-quality teacher development programmes that make a positive difference to teachers, schools, and pupils.
