National Tutoring Programme

Continued professional development for tutors

In addition to our National Tutoring Programme (NTP) training course, we also provide continued professional development for School-Led Tutors and Academic Mentors.

Online Seminars

We offer a range of short online events to provide further high-quality training and support for School-Led Tutors and Academic Mentors.

  • Seminars: Our interactive seminars draw on the most up to date, relevant research to provide evidence, practical guidance and resources to support you in your delivery of academic support for the pupils who need it most.
  • Tutoring Spotlight On...: These half-termly evening events take a deep-dive into high-leverage areas of tutoring and mentoring practice through the eyes of an expert in that field. Participants are invited to pre-submit their questions prior to the event and hear them answered live.

Approximately 20 events are run each half term at a range of times to suit different schedules. All tutors registered on the NTP training course can access these free of charge using their logins.

For organisations such as MATs, Federations and schools that would like to have private seminars tailored to their setting, our Tutoring Excellence seminars are a great option. To find out more about these, please click here.

Tutor Development Portal

The Tutor Development Portal is designed to complement the NTP training course and can be accessed by School-Led Tutors and Academic Mentors during and after their training. The portal contains a great range of resources including training videos, subject-specific support guides and wellbeing resources. All School-Led Tutors and Academic Mentors that are registered on the NTP training course platform can access these materials.

To find out how to register your School-Led Tutor or Academic Mentor please click here. You will need to select a pathway for them. If they have already taken the NTP training course, you can select the refresher pathway.
