Supporting school leaders to embed tutoring

Education Development Trust is keen to support school leaders participating in the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) to embed high-quality tutoring in their schools. Through the provision of insights into best-practice research, along with implementation guidance and resources, we aim to ensure that school leaders can make tutoring a long-term intervention to support the pupils who need it most.  

School Leader portal

School leaders that have registered School-Led Tutors and Academic Mentors onto the NTP Training Course have access to the School Leader Portal. The portal houses a wealth of guidance and implementation tools to support school leaders to embed tutoring in their schools.

The School Leader Portal includes:

• guidance – to signpost school leaders to essential NTP documents
• research – to ensure tutoring practice remains well-informed and evidence-based
• implementation tools- to ease whole-school coordination and support the long-term success of tutoring. These include our Tutoring Framework, a free resource to help school leaders optimise their tutoring provision.
