Leaders in Teaching Ethiopia: building stronger schools, capable teachers, and future-ready students

Imagine1day, edt, and Geneva Global Ethiopia announce a strategic partnership with Ethiopia’s Ministry of Education and the Mastercard Foundation to deliver the Leaders in Teaching Ethiopia programme, a flagship national programme aiming to build stronger schools, capable teachers, and future-ready students.

The programme specifically aims to improve the transition of secondary school students into tertiary education or the world of work by equipping them with relevant skills, knowledge, and attitudes.

Through system-wide and individual-level support, the programme recruits and builds the skills of Career and Technical Education (CTE) and in-service teachers, school leaders, and education officers. In Ethiopia’s 12 regions and two city administrations, programme target secondary school students take part in tutorials, career guidance, and training in 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and digital literacy.

The programme also creates opportunities for scholarships, enabling students to pursue higher education, technical and vocational colleges, and enter the workforce with confidence and competence.
