Learning to change the world: a refreshed edt

Welcome to the future of education and skills

Learning is one of the most powerful levers for change. When it’s equitable, evidence-informed and high quality, it has the power to create opportunity for everyone – from the young child stepping into education for the first time to the adult re-entering the workforce. We’re always learning, too: through our research, evidence, and partnerships, we are continuously evolving to make a bigger difference.

Edt, then known as The Centre for British Teachers (CfBT), was founded in 1968 to recruit British teachers to work abroad and offer them professional and welfare support. Today, our work and impact stretch far wider. For nearly 60 years, we’ve partnered with organisations and governments across the globe to strengthen education systems, shape career pathways, and support people to thrive. But the world is changing, and so is education.

We are proud to share the evolution of our brand. Our new look is inspired by our purpose to increase the life chances of individuals by improving education and skills. It reflects the last six decades of edt’s global impact, and our ambition to support the next generation of learners to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

We have an unmissable opportunity to ensure that, now and into the future, everyone has access to high-quality education and skills development. That’s why we are also sharpening our focus on the three key learning stages at which we make an impact: early childhood, school years, and futures. Through our refreshed brand fit for the future, we are more excited than ever about the opportunities we have to change education and skills for the better.
