School improvement and accountability

We are passionate about creating highly effective schools in which students can fulfil their potential. We design and deliver evidence-informed school improvement programmes that support schools to grow, connect, and demonstrate quality at every stage of their development.

Our wealth of experience from around the globe informs our expertise on what makes a school effective, and how best to support schools on a journey to improvement. We apply highly impactful, evidence-informed, and collaborative models to help schools – and school systems –improve their overall effectiveness and overcome specific challenges. In the UK, we run the largest collaborative school improvement programme in the country – the Schools Partnership Programme – which takes a holistic approach to school improvement through expertly facilitated peer learning. We also have also helped schools around the world to tackle specific classroom challenges, such as behaviour management, gender equality, and inclusion of students with SEND.

Meanwhile, our global reputation in inspection and accreditation is unparalleled. We have authored and implemented inspection frameworks for governments across the world, trained inspectors, and conducted international and national inspections, including for the UK’s Department for Education as one of few organisations authorised to inspect British Schools Overseas (BSO). This ensures schools are not only improving but meeting trusted external standards. We also have our own accreditation, the International Schools Quality Mark (ISQM) – a progressive framework for effective schools that helps them evaluate practice, plan improvement, and gain recognition for their achievements.
