West London Careers Hub to continue to support young people with careers opportunities for two more years

West London Careers Hub is funded by the Mayor of London and the Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC) and delivered by EDT. We are delighted that our work through the Hub will be continuing until August 2028. 

We are currently working with 177 secondary schools and colleges across West London to help them achieve their Gatsby Benchmarks, which define world-class careers guidance for young people in England. We also collaborate with local businesses and other organisations to provide young people with the necessary guidance, skills, and experiences to make informed career choices. 

As one of four sub-regional Careers Hubs that will continue to deliver under the Mayor’s London Careers Programme, West London Careers Hub will help to ensure that young Londoners can access high-quality, employer-led careers provision and benefit from the city’s labour market and growth. West London Careers Hub – along with local partners Youth Careers Collective, West London Alliance, and West London Business – recently launched the West London Youth Employment Roadmap, which provides a coordinated framework for reducing youth unemployment and supporting more young people into positive destinations.

The new funding will enable us to build on the successes of West London Careers Hub over the past five years, and ensure the Hub continues to meet the needs of young people in the sub-region. 

The continuation of all four sub-regional Careers Hubs is an important contribution to addressing the rising number of young people in the UK not in education, employment, or training (NEET). It supports the government’s ambition to balance the esteem of academic and technical routes into work, including providing increased access, consistency, and availability of work experience across the sub-region. The Hubs aim to prioritise support for young people in London at risk of becoming NEET, improving social mobility and widening access to opportunities for young people experiencing disadvantage.
