EDT to help more individuals upskill to enter England’s early years sector through new Skills Bootcamps in Early Years

We are proud to announce that EDT has partnered with the UK’s Department for Education (DfE) to deliver new Skills Bootcamps in Early Years across England.

High-quality education in the early years

High-quality early years education – in the first five years of life – is a hugely important foundation for lifelong learning and behaviour. An increasing number of governments around the world are recognising its importance and are reorientating their understanding of early years provision to focus on not just childcare, but more on early education. Here, we consider this growing interest and the importance of high-quality training and development for early years educators in optimising their environments and thereby giving children a strong start in life.

Examining improvements to girls’ education in Cambodia through a gender-responsive lens

The Cambodian government has been successful in raising girls’ enrolment and academic achievement in recent years, with girls’ enrolment reaching 100% in 2021 and girls outperforming boys in reading, writing and mathematics at Grade 5 level. While this is hugely encouraging for girls’ education in the country, these statistics alone do not help us to understand the extent to which gender imbalances are being addressed and improved within the classroom.

EDT partners with Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) to conduct inspections for 64 private schools

On Wednesday 24th January 2024, EDT's CEO Dan Sandhu and Education Director Tony McAleavy were delighted to meet with His Excellency Mr Ali Al Hosani, Director of Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), at the Bett education technology exhibition in London. EDT will be conducting inspections for 64 private schools in the emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, on behalf of SPEA.

EDT celebrates impact on education in Ethiopia as the TARGET programme draws to a close

On Thursday 18th January, EDT came together with ministry officials and other key stakeholders to celebrate our TARGET programme's remarkable achievements over the last four years with a programme closure event in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
